Hal Bumby
Founder & CEO
A lifelong wood preserver and industry icon, Hal founded Maine Wood Treaters, Inc. in 1983 after moving from Minnesota to Maine. Currently responsible for purchasing and business operations management, Hal brings a lifetime of treating and commodity trading expertise to the MWT team.
John Bumby
President
A fourth generation wood preserver, John Bumby oversees day-to-day operations of both our treating plant and sawmill. His responsibilities include production scheduling and management as well as product development.
A passionate treater, John is always looking for new ways to preserve new and existing wood species and products.
Erin Marden
Vice President
Bringing more than 30 years of various industry experience, Erin heads the company's sales division. Having previously owned a retail lumber yard and worked in a variety of capacities, Erin uses his vast experience to help customers every day.
Erin primarily manages special programs and projects while overseeing the sales and office teams.
Michelle French
Office Manager/Accounting
A veteran MWT employee, Michelle is responsible for all aspects of accounting, human resources, and office management.
Andy Theriault
Receiving & Inventory Management
Andy joined the MWT team in the fall of 2025. He works hand-in-hand with purchasing and our yard crew to ensure material is accurately received and moves through our digital inventory correctly.
Bethany Perkins
Customer Support
Bethany serves our customers as a valuable point of contact regarding order processing, invoicing, and other general inquiries. In her role, she provides valuable support to all of our departments.
Nancy Jackman
Dispatch
Nancy comes to the MWT team with a strong background in customer service, sales, and office management. She will oversee maintenance and registration for our company-owned truck fleet while building relationships with carriers to ensure we are able to deliver on our promises and commitments.
